Worth keeping

Every week or month, a new generation of high end gadgets are introduced. It is bound to make everyone's lives easier. From work to business, from communication to news. Coming from my father, he once said that nowadays, internet is a part of his life.

In this generation, communication is a click away. Email, chat, text message and video calls made communication  in reach. But can you recall the feeling of receiving a letter from the messenger boy? Not letters from banks, lending or loans. Letters from a friend, a family member or from your suitor? Can you recall how it felt to read handwritten letters of birthday or Christmas greetings? The effort of writing those letter and the emotions while jotting it down, it's priceless. It may sound blowing out of proportion, but tell me. Compare letters you read from emails, wall post or text message from the letter in the envelope delivered by the messenger boy.

When I was still a kid, every April (my birth month) and Christmas, we receive greeting cards with heartfelt letters from my grandparents in Canada. We send them one, too, with enclosed recent pictures in response. But when they died, we never receive letters from my Aunts in Canada.

However, my friends still write me everytime I celebrate my birthday, or even at Christmas, Graduation day and the time I passed the board exam. They knew I don't go for anything expensive. Simple treasures will forever be kept in my heart. Every effort from simple pleasures count.

* Don't mind the numbers on the second photo. I also posted this on my other blog. :)
